To combat the illegal recording of movies in local cinemas, the industry
in Malaysia has deployed a battalion of large, well-muscled fellows who
are stationed at all points of entry to cinema halls nationwide. These
intimidating characters, code-named “Mr. Security”, are employed solely
to remind moviegoers that recording in cinemas is illegal
At the top of the piracy pyramid, camcorders supply more than 90% of
newly released movies that illegally end up on the Internet and in
street markets around the world.
